What’s unique about this venue?
Florence House sits on the brow of Seaford Head, set within six acres of grounds on the edge of the South Downs National Park, with views across the downs and direct access to the beach two minutes away.
The house itself is a beautifully restored Victorian building, and every room has been individually decorated to create a calm, simple space for rest and reflection. The interiors are warm without being fussy, and the surrounding landscape does the rest: sea air, open countryside, and the particular stillness that comes from being right at the edge of England.
The yoga space is light and well-equipped, designed for the kind of unhurried, attentive practice that suits a winter weekend. Between sessions, the gardens, the coastal path, and the sea are all within easy reach.
Florence House is run with care and attention, and the food reflects that. Meals are freshly prepared, vegetarian, and generous, eaten together in the house.
For a winter retreat focused on rest, sleep, and nervous system recovery, the setting is quietly ideal. The wildness of the downs, the proximity of the sea, and the warmth of the house itself all support the work in ways that are hard to manufacture.
