The Divine Feminine: Calling the Wild Woman Home
Following the success of our last 3 day retreat in April, we are thrilled to announce the next of our Focused Healing Experiences which weave new teachings in Trauma, Psychology, embodiment practices, the Medicine Wheel and The Four Altars. This experience will be for women only and focusing on The Divine Feminine: Calling the Wild Woman Home.
The word “feminine” may ignite concepts of gender binary. However, divine femininity isn’t about gender but about energy. We all have a polarity within us, the active force of the masculine and the receptive form of the feminine.
The Divine Feminine is a creative and life-giving energy that we all possess, no matter where we are on the gender spectrum. The concept of divine feminine energy is believed to exist within all of us and embracing it is about finding strength in our own softness and challenging society’s idea of what it means to be empowered.
The divine feminine is generally thought to represent the part of our consciousness that connects to qualities like intuition, feeling, nurturing, receptivity and interconnectedness. It’s a type of energy that everyone can access and tap into.
“The Divine Feminine refers to a face of the divine spirit that is connected with the body, with nature, and with the cycles of creation and transformation. It is generally understood and felt through the subtle intuitive wisdom of the body.” (Gabriela Herstik)
We live in a patriarchal society that often appears to value thinking over intuition; taking action over being receptive; and focusing our energy outward rather than inward, but sacred femininity allows us to challenge that status quo.
“Divine feminine energy is about uplifting that which has been denigrated in our society. It is about questioning, rebuking, reclaiming, and transmuting the hierarchies that have shaped our experiences and re-centering those who have been cast out from the conversation.” (Edgar Fabian Frias)
By embracing only certain parts of ourselves, we can create an imbalance, but embracing divine femininity can help to heal that inequality.
