6 Night Plant-Based Quiet Yoga Retreat
INTRODUCTION
This peaceful retreat is an opportunity to relax, unwind and let go. Detach from traditional Christmas festivities. Disengage with the outer world, luxuriate in a space of calm serenity. This is a time to turn the torch light of awareness inwards, to nurture and cocoon, reconnect with your inner world. Emerge refreshed, renewed and realigned.
This retreat is led by Allison Alexander, who is an accredited Yoga Alliance Professional teacher who wants to share the joy of the practice and its life enhancing potential with you. All practices of Yoga will include asana, pranayama, meditation, and relaxation. These practices allow us to let go of stress and worry, and cultivate mental and emotional balance. The soothing and healing yoga sessions also help to improve physical flexibility, strength and resistance.
The house is set in 6 acres within an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the South Downs National Park. The retreat is fully catered. Plant-based whole-food will be prepared by culinary duo Ellie Wilson and Sebastian Stafford-Edwards. During our retreat we encourage quietness throughout the day until dinner, but please feel free to stay as quiet as feels right to you.
Each day starts with 2 optional yoga practices, we then have breakfast and head out for a guided walk. After a light lunch you are welcome to join the afternoon inspirational workshop. In the early evening you are invited to join a relaxing yoga practice, followed by dinner and a glass of wine!
You can join in as much as you wish, and take personal time as often as you like.

QUIETUDE
In our world, we are surrounded by noise, external and internal, which drowns out our peace of mind and inner wisdom and compassion. Quiet retreats are a wonderful way of deepening our practice, cultivating inner stillness and discovering insight.
Periods of extended silence can be a liberating experience, allowing us to get to know our minds at a deeper level. Through letting go of the familiar world of words we give ourselves space from the complexities of social interactions and can come to see our mind and its activity more clearly.
Spending 7 days in quietude with others is not without its challenges – it can feel unusual and awkward at first, and there may be periods where we feel uncomfortable being alone with our mind. However, attendees often find that being together in this way allows them to explore a degree of solitude while having the safety, connection and support of likeminded people. You will be supported during your inner exploration by each other and by Allison who will be around to help you.
If you’re unsure if this is for you but you’re keen to come along, please get in touch with Allison at info@aboutbalancebrighton.com or call 01273 686882.
